Starting something and failing is much more valuable than never starting at all.
Whether it’s fear, procrastination, comfort, or a feeling of imminent failure ahead; many will never take a swing at being great!
Take The Swing!
I’ve watched many baseball games and played in a few as well. One thing I have NEVER seen is a player hit a home run, sitting on the bench/in the dugout. Even if in some weird trick shot type of way it did happen, it wouldn’t count as it would be against the rules. The obvious conclusion is, you have to get off the bench, step up to the plate, and take your swings if you want to hit the home run and be successful.
What is Needed to Step Up to The Plate?
Courage – Remove the primary barrier of fear. If not, it will paralyze you and kill your chances at success.
Self-confidence – Simply put, believe in yourself and what you’re aiming to accomplish.
A Sense of Urgency – Time is of the essence. Sitting around waiting for success will ensure that you never attain it!
Step Outside Your Comfort Zone – We get complacent when we’re in our comfort zone, which allows us to miss out on opportunities to win.
We’ve all probably had times where we felt we “left something on the table”. Often, those lost opportunities are the things we regret most. Stay focused and prepared, but remember in order to win and create success, you must be willing to step up to the plate and take your swings!
