I think we’ve all had the experience with a know it all. Whether it’s the person in class that always tries to be first to answer questions, often injecting additional and unnecessary information; or the person at work, in a team meeting or project meeting that is a subject matter expert on everything (probably the same person, just grown up now, lol). As much as it’s great to be knowledgable on many subjects, nobody knows everything and nobody likes a know it all. Whether it’s the smug attitude that usually comes with being a know it all, or the difficulty communicating with someone who only views their opinion as significant; it’s a challenge relating with them on many levels. Today I focus on how to make sure you’re not being that person. Even when you are the subject matter expert; there’s a way to be knowledgable and not a know it all!
