When most people want something, we want it right away. Whether it’s a material item like a car or house, a career-related item like a job or title, or even a personal item like a relationship or better physique, the more we desire to have it, the sooner we want it. In a sense, it’s not wrong to want the items right away, as long as we continue to work towards obtaining them the right way. The problem occurs when we want them so bad we are willing to cut corners, take shortcuts, and even cheat to get them. We must never forget, just like Rome wasn’t built in a day, anything we want in life is worth waiting for. Keep grinding, keep striving, but remember the words of the great poem If by Rudyard Kipling – “If you wait and not be tired by waiting…”
